This tutorial will show you how to log into PEER the first time and set up your account. We will also review the home menu and point out many of the features and actions available within PEER.


The Log In Screen



Anyone with a valid VUnet ID and password can log into PEER. Once you have pointed your internet browser to https://peer.app.vumc.org, you should see this log in screen. Simply enter your VUnet ID and password and then click the "Login" button.


Create Your Account Profile



If this is your first time logging in, the next screen you see will be an account creation page. In order for PEER to keep track of the work you do in the system, you need to give us some basic information about yourself. PEER connects with the Vanderbilt Directory Service to pre-fill as much of the detail as possible. You should double-check the entries and then click "Submit." The Home Department is pre-filled from the People Finder directory. If your home department is wrong, you need to have your People Finder entry updated. Then, the next time you log into PEER, your PEER Home Department will automatically update.


Log In Again



Once you have submitted your profile, you will be provided a link to log in again. This time, once you have logged in, you will be taken to the Home Menu. Please note the following areas of interest: 1) The Navigation Bar, 2) The faculty COI & PI Assurance module, 3) the other approvals module, 4) the Grants module, and 5) the central-office contracts module. Other modules may appear here depending on your specific permissions (such as the Contract-Tracking aka "mini-PEER" module). The Home Menu is covered in greater detail in the Introduction to PEER tutorial. 


Modifying Your Account Profile



Should you need to modify your PEER account profile at any time in the future, in the Navigation Bar, click on your name just to the left of the log out button. This will bring you to an account profile screen. Simply modify the desired elements of your profile and click "Save."
